Five more cases of COVID 19 in Galway bringing total to 68

Galway Bay fm newsroom - There are five further confirmed cases of COVID 19 in Galway bringing the county's total to 68.

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has been informed of 200 new confirmed cases of the virus in Ireland.

There are now 2,615 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland with 46 coronavirus related deaths.

Dublin has the highest number of cases at 56% of all cases followed by Cork at 9%.

Of those for whom transmission status is known, community transmission accounts for 51%.

As restriction measures continue in a bid to maintain social distancing, Gardaí conducted more than 800 checkpoints between 5pm on Saturday and 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon.
