First round CAO offers for NUIG and GMIT broadly in line with last year's points requirement

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Commerce in NUIG has dropped by two points to 420, while students hoping to study Business in GMIT will need to meet the initial 290 points requirement.

Science in GMIT has risen by 7points to 332 points while NUIG's science course has risen by just one point to 401.

The drop in demand for Law courses across Ireland's main Universities is reflected in NUIG too, with a 22 point drop to 473.

Meanwhile points for General Nursing in both GMIT and NUIG have risen by 27 and 3 points respectively.

Civil Engineering at NUIG has dropped significantly by 54 points to 455. GMIT's Civil Engineering course has risen by ten points to 280.

Finally, Arts at NUIG hasn't changed at 300 points, while GMIT's Hotel Management course has risen by one point to 226.
