Galway Bay fm newsroom - Physiotherapy services across the city and county have been reduced due to financial constraints on the HSE.
Galway Senator Trevor O' Clochartaigh says the provision of physio services, particularly in Connemara, is at a critical level since 2015.
He contacted the HSE to seek clarification as to how many staff should be providing a service in Connemara.
The HSE says there should be one full-time physio, however, the post was left vacant last August and a new physio has not been appointed due to financial pressures.
The Sinn Féin senator says he's also aware of problems with the provision of physiotherapy services in Shantalla in the city and in Ballinasloe.
Senator O' Clochartaigh says calling people from Connemara for physio appointments in the city is just not acceptable.
