Galway Bay fm newsroom - A lecturer at NUI Galway who took a case to the Labour Court over her lack of promotion, has reached an amicable agreement with the college.
Dr. Elizabeth Tilley is one of five female lecturers who took action against NUIG.
Dr. Tilley is a lecturer at NUIG's department of English.
According to today's Irish Times, the university accepted that she exceeded the qualifications required for the senior lectureship post for which she had previously been passed over.
It's understood an 'amicable agreement' has been reached and includes compensation of an undisclosed sum.
Her promotion has now been endorsed by the board of NUIG.
While Dr. Tilley pursued the action through the Labour Court, 4 other female lecturers pursued legal action through the courts, which is still in progress.
