Feasibility study to examine cycleway between city and Silverstrand

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway City Council is to appoint consultants to undertake a feasibility study on a cycleway between the city and Silverstrand.

That's according to Councillor Clodagh Higgins, who says the high-level assessment will identify a suitable route corridor for the long-sought amenity.

She argues the walk and cycleway will be a "game-changer" for the entire community - including those who rely on wheelchairs or mobility scooters, as well as those with pushchairs and prams.

Councillor Higgins says extensive consultation will follow through various stages of the project - but this is a vital first step.
