Feasibility study on planned 15 million euro pool and leisure club in Knocknacarra

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A feasibility study is to be carried out for a proposal to build a 15 million euro swimming pool and leisure centre at Cappagh Park.

The project is second on a list of priorities for a funding application under the government’s Large Scale Sports Infrastructure Fund.

The two-storey extension of the existing sports facilities would see the development of a 34-metre swimming pool and state-of-the-art gym.

The city council is currently seeking tenders for the feasibility study.

Galway West Fine Gael TD Hildegarde Naughton says the study will begin next week.
