Galway Bay fm newsroom - A public meeting will take place in Eyrecourt this evening to discuss the closure of post offices in East Galway.
The meeting has been organised by Loughrea area Councillor Jimmy McClearn and will be attended by Oireachtas members and local representatives.
It's the latest in a series of public meetings which have been called following an announcement from An Post that 160 rural branches are to close nationwide.
18 of these are located across Galway - where postmasters will retire and their business will be transferred to neighbouring post offices.
This evening's public meeting will focus on planned closures in Eyrecourt, Kylebrack and New Inn - it'll take place at Eyrecourt Community Centre at 8.30.
