Galway Bay fm newsroom - A factory in the city has been given approval to expand.
Ingersoll - Rand International which operates Thermo King has secured planning permission for the development at Monivea Road in Mervue.
The extension will include a two-storey office building with research laboratories and a test yard.
City planners have attached 11 planning conditions to the grant of planning permission.
One condition requires the company to submit revised plans showing 2 bike shelters within the site to accommodate 16 bicycles.
The council says this it to promote sustainable modes of transportation.
