Senator Eugene Murphy will be holding meetings in the coming days before making any decision on running as an independent in Roscommon/Galway in the upcoming election.
It's after Fianna Fail decided not to add the veteran politician and former TD to the ticket, instead favoring a single candidate in Ballygar GP Dr. Martin Daly.
He says he fully supports Dr. Martin Daly, but feels two candidates are needed to secure a seat in the constituency given the recent boundary revisions.
Senator Murphy is meeting with Fianna Fail today - and says he'll be meeting with supporters over the next few days.
And he was asked by John Morley if he feels "pushed aside" by the leadership of his party.
