Engineer confirms proper procedure followed after discovery of bones at Shop Street in city

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A project engineer has confirmed to Galway City Council that proper procedures were followed after the discovery of human remains during upgrade works at Shop Street recently.

He told a meeting of the local authority last evening that the discovery had held up the contractors for a week.

Project engineer, Jimmy Callan, told councillors that upgrading the surface of Shop Street was a challenging task.

The first 50 metres took a number of months to complete.
