Galway Bay fm newsroom - Emergency services are continuing to monitor a gorse fire which broke out at the Curragh Line on the Headford Road last evening.

Five units of the fire brigade were required to bring the large blaze under control.
It was first reported to emergency services after 5pm, with crews standing down at 11pm.

The N84 is fully open to traffic this morning, with the incident being monitored closely as the fire continues to smolder.
