Galway Bay fm newsroom - An emergency meeting is to take place next week over the future of a school for children with special needs in Ballinasloe.
St Teresa's Special School, which has 21 pupils, is facing closure due to rising insurance costs.
Costs soared by 700 percent in the last 3 years and this year the school had to pay a premium of 26 thousand euro.
Paying the premium has allowed the school to remain open until the end of June however without funding from the Department of Education, it is likely that the school will be unable to reopen in September.
