Education Minister urged to intervene in bid to secure future of special school in Ballinasloe

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Parents’ Association at St. Teresa’s Special School in Ballinasloe is calling for an urgent meeting with the Education Minister Joe Mc Hugh.

The call comes following an emergency meeting this month to discuss the future of the school due to spiralling insurance premium costs, which have risen by 700 percent in the last 3 years.

The school caters for 21 students with 6 additional students to be enrolled in September.

The Parents’ Association says its future is at risk if insurance costs continue to climb
