East Galway householders are being urged to avail of free e-waste and battery recycling events over the next few days.
Hosted by WEEE Ireland, with the support of the County Council, the first event takes place tomorrow (Oct 12th) at the Co-op mart in Portumna from 10am to 4pm.
On Tuesday a collection will take place at Headford GAA pitch from 4pm to 7pm.
Next Thursday there will be a collection at the community centre, Baile Chláir, from 10am-1pm, before moving to the SuperValu car park, Glenamaddy, from 4pm-7pm.
The following week collections will take place in Williamstown, Monivea, Kinvara, Woodford, Clarinbridge and Athenry.
Anything with a plug, battery or cable can be recycled for free on the day.
This includes old washing machines, TVs, toasters and kettles, electronic tools and toys, cables, IT equipment, mobile phones, remote controls, batteries, including farm fence batteries, and watches.
