€5m announced to tackle housing vacancy and dereliction across Galway

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Funding of €5m has been announced to tackle housing vacancy and dereliction across Galway.

Galway City Council has been awarded €3m, while a further €2m will support Galway County Council.

Nationally, €150m has been allocated after local authorities made submissions outlining how 5 thousand units could be returned to use.

They’ll be awarded a 100 percent grant for the cost of acquiring suitable properties that can be returned to use.
