Dunmore designated as area for funding for hackney service

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Funding is being made available for the provision of a localised hackney service in Dunmore.

The National Transport Authority is providing 6 thousand euro to individual drivers over twelve months to operate a localised hackney service in 15 Local Link areas nationwide.

The areas included in the pilot programme, which includes Dunmore, were selected by the NTA as areas where a full-time taxi or hackney service may not be currently sustainable.

Applications for the funding are now being accepted.
