Galway Bay fm newsroom - Gardaí are following a definite line of inquiry into a violent assault on an elderly man in his home in the city.
The aggravated burglary took place on the eve of St. Patrick's Day (16-17/3) at a house at Glenview Drive, Tuam Road.
The man was injured during the attempted burglary and was taken to University Hospital Galway for treatment for a hand injury.
The alleged culprit had short cropped hair and was wearing dark jeans and a white sports shirt with stripes on the chest.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Glenview Drive area to contact them at Millstreet garda station at 091 53 8000.
