Galway Bay FM Newsroom – A decision is expected in late April on a proposal for a controversial waste transfer station in Ballinasloe.
Bruscar Bhearna Teoranta has been seeking permission for the facility at Pollboy for a number of years.
One application was granted in late 2017, but was later overturned following a High Court action taken by local residents.
Campaigners argue it’s an inappropriate location for the facility due to the volume of trucks that would go through Ballinasloe.
Galway County Council received 674 submissions on the latest proposal.
The applicant had until Mar 10 to respond to the submissions received.
Once the applicant has responded to the submissions received from the public, Galway County Council has five weeks to consider its decision on the application.
