Decision due on plan for solar farm in Claregalway

From Galway Bay FM newsroom- A decision is due in the next few weeks on plans for a solar energy development in Claregalway.

The project is led by Renewable Energy System (RES) Ltd and would be based at Ballymoneen.

It would involve the construction of a solar PV energy development with a total site area of circa 25 hectares.

This would include electrical transformer and inverter station modules, solar PV panels ground mounted on support structures and internal access tracks.

The solar farm would be operational for 35 years.

County planners are due to issue their decision next month.
