It's one of three protests being held at KPMG bases today with others being led in Dublin and Cork.

140 jobs were lost in Galway when the Eyre Street outlet closed in April, with over one thousand people nationwide let go after the company began the process to enter liquidation.

Employees are calling for a former redundancy agreement with Debenhams to be honoured and also for a fresh focus on the Duffy/Cahill report.

They also want the stock used for their redundancy and argue the online Irish business and other assets should also be factored in.

It comes as former employees have been gathering at the Debenhams loading bay exit near Eyre Street since last Wednesday morning in a bid to block trucks from removing stock on behalf of KPMG.

Meanwhile, Galway City Council has voted to call on Debenhams to grant the former Debenhams employees an additional two week redundancy payment, in addition to the staturtory two weeks' payment, in recognition of the years of loyal service they have given to the company.

The motion was proposed by Independent Councillor Terry O'Flaherty and was unanimously carried by all Councillors at this week's plenary meeting.
