Galway Bay fm newsroom - The deadline is looming as Galway's 39 county councillors and officials work to approve the draft County Development Plan for the next six years.
The blueprint covering the period from 2022 to 2028 spans over 1300 pages, with 2,877 submissions received.
Councillors must finalise their review by midnight tomorrow as part of the two year statutory process.
The amended plan will then go out on public display again in Spring.
County Cathaoirleach Peter Keaveney told Keith Finnegan on Galway Talks that members began work to review the plan and related submissions the week before Christmas and continued this week, with discussions taking place remotely via Zoom for an average of 10 hours per day.
He says it's a very important document with key planning and zoning guidelines for the coming years and discussion is likely to go down to the wire tomorrow night...
