Galway Bay fm newsroom - It's been revealed that just two of Galway's eleven TDs are landlords.
That's according to the newly published Dáil Register of Declared Interests for 2017.
The Dáil Register of Declared Interests for last year shows that 30 out of 158 TDs are renting out properties around the country.
That means one in five are landlords - but the figure for Galway is slightly below the national average.
Just two TDs across the constituencies of Galway West/South Mayo, Galway East and Galway-Roscommon are letting properties.
Galway East Independent Deputy Sean Canney is acting as landlord for six properties - a home at Wellpark in Galway City; 3 apartments at Bishop Street, Tuam; and two houses at The Mall in Tuam.
He also has a share in a partnership for the purpose of renting a retail property at Fr Griffin Road in Galway City.
Galway West Deputy Noel Grealish is letting two properties - a house in Claregalway and an apartment in Dublin.
Also listed in the register of declared interests for Independent Deputy Grealish is 15 acres of farmland at Carnmore.
Meanwhile, Galway-Roscommon Independent TD Michael Fitzmaurice owns several parcels of land in Williamstown - but these are described as being for farming purposes only and not development.
Another declared land-owner is Galway-Roscommon Fine Gael Minister Denis Naughten, who owns his constituency office in Roscommon town and 1 acre of land at Drum in Athlone.
Galway East Fine Gael Deputy Ciaran Cannon has listed two properties in his land portfolio - a public house at Carrabane, Athenry and a holiday home in France.
Nationally, Kerry TD Michael Healy Rae has the highest number of properties, with 10 described as being for letting purposes.
