Custody remand for man charged with murder of elderly Portumna woman

Galway Bay fm newsroom:

A 54-year-old man from Portumna has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a 75 year old local woman last year.

Michael Scott from Gortanumera has been charged with the murder of Chrissie Treacy, from Boula, and appeared before a special sitting of Loughrea court last evening.

Chrissie Treacy, who lived alone, was found dead at her farm on April 27th last year.
