Galway Bay fm newsroom - There are fears that jobs could be lost at Parkmore unless the ongoing gridlock at the city industrial estate is solved.
That's according to Pat Duane, who's chair of the Parkmore Traffic Action Group.
He says thousands of employees are subjected to delays of up to an hour and a half every day when trying to get home from work.
The group met yesterday to discuss the issue.
At the meeting, employees outlined the impact the delays are having on their family and personal lives - with some experiencing anxiety and panic attacks as a result of the ongoing problem.
In addition, Parkmore businesses are considering withholding rates until a solution is found.
Speaking to Keith Finnegan, Parkmore employee Deirdre Colleran says she's been severely impacted by the problem.
Pat Duane says the City Council and the IDA need to step up to find medium to long term solutions.
