Councillors vote for full review of speed limits across city

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Councillors have voted for a full review of speed limits across Galway City.

The matter was discussed at a meeting of Galway City Council last evening.

The latest review will be completed by the end of this year and councillors are expected to vote on revised limits following a public consultation period.

Among the measures expected are increases on the Quincentennial Bridge, Bothar na dTreabh and on the Tuam Road on the outskirts of the city.

Speaking to Galway Talks, Councillor Eddie Hoare also outlined where speed reductions might be applied.
