Galway Bay fm newsroom - Councillors have signed off on changes to the traffic plan for Oranmore in a bid to ease traffic congestion through the village.
The council agreed late last year to alter the plan to try to alleviate the area's traffic problems.
A number of proposed changes to the plan were put on public display, and submissions have now been assessed by the local authority.
Following approval from the Athenry/Oranmore district councillors, a revised plan will now be drawn up.
Changes to be included in the plan include an additional 28 meters of double yellow lines on Main Street, and additional disabled parking on the old Dublin Road.
