Galway Bay fm newsroom - Councillor Séamus Walsh and farmer Gerry King have been selected to contest the local election in Connemara North for Fianna Fáil.
At a selection convention in Maam Cross last night, Councillor Séamus Walsh was automatically chosen for the ticket without a vote.
A close contest took place for the second position on the ticket between Mannin businessman Josie Conneely and farmer Gerry King from Errislannan.
Around 200 members of the party voted and Gerry King, who works in the fish farm industry was selected to join Councillor Séamus Walsh on the ticket.
