Councillor expresses frustration over new delays to South Galway Flood Relief Scheme

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A county councillor is expressing frustration over fresh delays to the South Galway/Gort Lowlands Flood Relief Scheme.

Councillor Joe Byrne is calling for an explanation for the latest delay - to the Environmental Impact Assessment report.

The long awaited scheme aims to address repeat instances of severe flooding - that have destroyed homes, farms and livelihoods over the past few decades.

However, Councillor Byrne claims there has been little movement on the project so far - leaving people in the area at risk:
