Councillor appeals to public for information on vandalism at Westside Park

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A councillor has appealed to the public in Westside to provide information after a number of mature trees were cut down at Westside Park over the weekend.

It's understood three trees were cut down with a saw at the popular amenity area.

Local councillor Mike Cubbard says the track, pitches and walkway are used by many in the area and residents are extremely frustrated as they take great pride in the amenity.

The Independent councillor told Keith Finnegan on Galway Talks he has contacted the Parks Department to see if CCTV in the area is functioning.

He argues it's a slap in the face for the community and appears pre-meditated:
