Council opens tender process for Athenry public realm enhancement project

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway county council has opened the tender process for the design of a public realm enhancement scheme for Athenry.

The enhancement scheme is set to focus on Market Square, Burke's Lane and Davis Street.

Bids from urban designers and landscape architects can be submitted until June 19th.

Local councillor Shelly Herterich Quinn has proposed that the widening of paths be included in the plan to facilitate on-street trading for pubs, cafes and restaurants in a bid to adhere to social distancing guidlelines.
