Galway Bay fm newsroom - COPE Galway is to run local campaigns over the next two weeks as part of this year's international 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence campaign.
The campaign gets underway tomorrow to coincide with International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and will run until December 10th.
COPE Galway's Domestic Abuse Service has partnered with local designer, Sadhbh Erika, to design a selection of tote bags with images and phrases that challenge the stereotype of what can be deemed a ‘victim of domestic abuse’.
The bags can be purchased through the COPE Galway shop at St Augustine Street, or online at copegalway.ie.
This year, COPE Galway is also a part of the One Million Stars campaign which began in Melbourne, Australia in 2012, following the murder of Irish woman Jill Meagher.
