Controversy over new speed limits at Frenchfort Oranmore

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Controversy erupted at a meeting of Athenry/Oranmore Municipal District this week over speed limits in a part of Oranmore.

Councillor Jim Cuddy says he is unhappy that speed limits at the old Dublin Road from Furey's Cross to the Oranbeg roundabout at the community centre don't extend far enough.

The council previously passed a motion reducing the speed limit to 60 kilometres per hour approaching the roundabout from the water tower at Frenchfort.
