Galway Bay fm newsroom - Dublin firm ABM Construction has been appointed to build a new school for Gaelscoil Riabhach in Loughrea.
The project will involve a new two-storey 12-classroom school to be located at Cosmona, adjacent to the Loughrea bypass.
The building is expected to reach completion by late October and will include drop-off and pick-up areas.
Galway East Fine Gael TD Ciaran Cannon says parents and the board of management have worked hard for 10 years to make a case for the new building.

Meanwhile, St. Brendan's Boys national school in Loughrea is set for expansion.
The department of education has sanctioned four new rooms.
This project is expected to be delivered this year.
