Galway Bay fm newsroom - A contractor has been appointed to carry out safety and enhancement works in Corofin Village and Tuam.
That's according to Galway East TD Seán Canney who says the works are funded by the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.
In Corofin, the works include the replacement and extension of footpaths, the installation of pedestrian crossings and the upgrading of public lights.
Meanwhile in Tuam, pedestrian crossings will be installed on the Galway Road, and a footpath connecting Toghermore estate to the town will be constructed.
Deputy Canney says works are expected to begin in the next 3 to 4 weeks.
