Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway County Council says an environmental consultant should be appointed to the flood relief scheme for the Gort lowlands by the end of the year.
Potential consultants had until early this month (3/10) to declare their interest in securing the contract to carry out environmental aspects of the engineering study of south Galway.
The council says its satisfied with the level of interest in the project and the tenders are being assessed.
It's expected that the contract will be awarded before the end of the year to progress work on the Gort lowlands project.
