Construction industry in West calls for review of delays in planning process

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The western branch of the Construction Industry Federation is calling for a review of the planning system to ensure decisions are made in a timely manner.

CIF says that in the past 5 years, a number of critical projects have experienced significant delays or have been shelved due to inefficiencies in the planning and legislative system.

The delay in a Judicial Review of the decision to grant planning permission for a data centre for Apple in Athenry resulted in the project being abandoned.
