Galway Bay fm newsroom - A public meeting will take place in Carraroe tomorrow to discuss the widespread gorse fires which swept the county during the recent spell of good weather. (Sunday 2/4)
Representatives from the fire service, Gardaí and the Irish Natura and Hillfarmers Association will address the gathering, which is being organised by Galway Senator Trevor O'Clochartaigh.
It's after fires crews were put under extreme pressure by massive gorse fires in at least six locations across the county last weekend.
The public meeting takes place at An Crompán Community Centre, Carraroe at 8pm tomorrow.
Senator O'Clochartaigh says some fires are suspected to have been set intentionally, and tomorrow's meeting will address the impacts of such activities.
