Connemara people say they need more help to fight massive fire

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Locals in Connemara who've had to fight fire on their land say they could have done with more help.

Thousands of acres of bogland and forestry have been destroyed by the blaze, which has been described as a once in a generation event.

Coillte and Air Corps aircraft have been dumping water to fight the fire.

But local farmer Kevin McDonagh of  Seanapheistín says the community had to try put out the blaze without sufficient resources.
