Galway Bay fm newsroom - A meeting will take place in Connemara this evening to chart the way forward for a campaign against mineral mining in the region.
'Protect Connemara' is hosting its AGM to elect a permanent committee to lead the campaign and secure legal status as a not-for-profit organisation.
It's as Canadian company MOAG and BTU Metals Corp are both seeking prospecting licences from the Government.
A number of protests against the granting or renewal of such licenses have taken place at County Hall in the city in recent weeks.
'Protect Connemara' will host its AGM at Ballyconneely Hall this evening at 7.30.
