Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Connemara GAA club has secured a 270 thousand euro funding boost as the scheduled host of this year's Comórtas Peile Na Gaeltachta.
The grant has been allocated to Noamh Anna Leitir Móir, to undertake enhancement works at its facilities.
Comórtas Peile Na Gaeltachta is due to take place over the June bank holiday weekend, depending on the evolving coronavirus crisis.
The competition attracts clubs, players and spectators from all Gaeltacht regions each year.
The funding has been approved by Senator and outgoing Minister for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands Sean Kyne.
