Galway Bay fm newsroom - Some areas in Connemara have experienced the heaviest rainfall in the country since midnight - with more than double the level recorded in other parts of Galway.
According to Met Eireann, there had been an accumulation of 57mm in Maam Valley as of this morning.
That compares to 20 to 25mm in the rest of the county during the same period.
It's as a status yellow rainfall warning is in place since the early hours of this morning, and will remain in place until 6am tomorrow.
Accumulations of between 30 and 60mm are to be expected across Galway during that time.
A status yellow wind warning is also due to come into effect around now, and will remain in place until 4 o' clock this afternoon.
