Galway Bay fm newsroom - Bus speeds in Galway and other regional cities have fallen to as low as 1 kilometer per hour at peak times due to traffic gridlock.
Growing congestion levels across Ireland also mean Bus Éireann faces being hit with fines of up to 1 million euro by the end of the year for failing to stick to timetables.
According to the Irish Independent, the congestion problem is particularly acute in Cork and Galway.
