It's been confirmed that a truck discovered to be carrying three Sudanese stowaways in Galway City yesterday had come from France.
Gardai are liaising with Interpol and police authorities in Sudan as part of their investigation into the discovery of the three men yesterday evening at the Big Top festival area.
The Garda National Immigration Bureau was notified after the three men were discovered in the body of a heavy goods vehicle shortly after 4pm yesterday.
Gardaí at Mill Street attended Fisheries Field yesterday where it is was reported that a number of men were concealed in the body of a truck.
A search was conducted and three non-Irish males, believed to be from Sudan were discovered.
The truck arrived from France yesterday carrying band equipment for one of the visiting arts festival acts.
The three men were detained under Section 130 of the Immigration Act and taken to Galway Garda Station.
