Concerns over lack of maintenance at Priory Graveyard in Athenry

From Galway Bay FM newsroom- Concerns are being raised over the lack of maintenance at the old Priory Graveyard in Athenry.

Councillor Shelly Herterich Quinn says it's an annual issue, and no-one appears to be taking responsibility for grass-cutting and upkeep.

She says all graveyards are under the remit of Galway County Council but they simply don't have the resources available.

Councillor Herterich Quinn says volunteers have been extremely helpful as well as other local groups in the past - but even they are now struggling to find people.
