Galway Bay fm newsroom - Concerns are being raised over the viability of services being offered by Rahoon Family Centre.
Galway Senator Trevor O' Clochartaigh says the failure to allocate any Community Employment workers to the centre this year has created a serious staff deficit.
He argues that the Government's JobPath programme is taking all available resources, leaving no workers available to fill three vacant posts at the centre.
The Sinn Fein Senator says the centre has relied heavily in recent years on almost 60 hours contributed on a weekly basis by Community Employment positions.
Senator O' Clochartaigh is urging the Department of Social Protection and the HSE to ensure the issue is resolved.
