That's according to Athenry Oranmore area councillor Shelly Herterich Quinn, who says while the council have confirmed they are dealing with the problem, no assurance has been given that crews will receive their full pay in September.

Retained fire crews are fire-fighters who do not work full time on the job, but who are on call for extended periods of time, ready to respond to an emergency.
