Concern as some Galway private student accommodation providers refuse to refund

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Several private providers of student accommodation in Galway will not offer refunds to students who were forced to move home early due to the coronavirus emergency.

That's according to Roscommon/Galway TD Denis Naughten who has been contacted by numerous concerned Galway students in recent weeks.

It comes as the Education Minister has confirmed that UL remains the only university in the country which has refused to refund students who were forced to leave their accommodation.

Deputy Naughten says many private providers have received public support through tax incentives and other state supports.
