Galway Bay fm newsroom - The community in Loughrea are vowing to protest over the relocation of the Day Centre, according to a local councillor.
A protest was held in June over its closure, and the service has since reopened for one day in the existing centre at St Brendans, with three days available at the Loughrea Hotel.
In 2019 a HIQA report found that the St Brendan's centre was 'substantially compliant', but there were issues raised with the dining facility and the centre was closed to facilitate permanent residents.
However, Councillor Geraldine Donohue has said that an architect was to come in to deal with the issue, but she has not yet seen that happen.
Councillor Donohue says locals have lots of questions.
