Galway Bay fm newsroom - Gardaí in Clifden have urged motorists to exercise extreme caution this morning after heavy rain has led to significant flooding on two stretches of the N59.
The N59 at Kylemore is impassable while the stretch between Maam Cross and Recess is also impassable.
Local diversions are being put in place and Gardaí and fire crews are attending the affected areas.
Gardaí are warning motorists to slow down and avoid the areas if possible.
It follows heavy rainfall overnight and this morning.
