Cleggan Coast Guard was tasked to assist a group of walkers who were stranded at Barr na nÓrán yesterday due to flooding of the Owenglin river.
The group of five, who are staying in Clifden, had driven across the river earlier that morning but flooding had made it too dangerous to come back.
Cleggan Coast Guard were called and with the help of a local farmer got the group to a safe crossing point and brought them back safely to where they were staying.
